On 16th of January 2012, a manifestation was held to hand out the highest title of Canton Sarajevo, in Police Directorate building. Our athletes, Hurmija Mujić and Dževad Pandžić received plaquettes and a cash award in the amount of 100 KM.

Let us recall, hereby, that Pandžić Dž. Won a gold medal in Padova- Italy, in 2011, thus making the required A norm for the Paralympic games, London 2012, as well as the upcoming European Championship which will take place in Stadskanaal , Netherlands (23.06.-28.06.2012), for discus and shotput. Mujić Hurmija won 3 gold medals in Sarajevo, in field disciplines, shotput, discus and javelin, and is very close to achieving the shotput Paralypmic norm. She qualified for the European Championship in field discipline javelin as well; a no small feat. The rest of our athletes string one good result after another, showing the will and commitment of SDI “BOSNA” Sarajevo: Dženita Klico won 2 bronze medals on the Open Croatian Championship, achieved the necessary qualification for European Championship, in field disciplines shotput, discus, javelin and a towering B norm for Paralympics London 2012 , in discipline shotput. Another one of our bright stars is Damir Muratović , who owns the Canton and State Records in all three disciplines (shotput,discus,javelin) and who managed to run up to the 36th floor of AVAZ Twist Tower last year in the “Twist Tower Race” , setting the precedent for the rest of the disabled athletes , as the first handicapped athlete who ran to the 36th floor , in Bosnia and Herzegovina – an achievement which , above all other, speaks of his perseverance.

On 19th of January , our athlete Dževad Pandžić was elected best in Federation BiH as well, on a ceremony held in Army Hall Building. There was no cash award on this ceremony, which speaks volumes about organization of the entire event and the people who work behind it. It is very shameful not to honor the one you proclaim best in the country in any way, as we all know that disabled people are one of the most endangered categories in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nevertheless, this achievement goes to show our dedication even when our training and operating conditions are severely below the required.
